International meeting of fans of the American cars and motorcycles “American spirit” is an annual event that takes place at the second weekend of August in Palanga. The goals of international event: to round up in one place enthusiasts of American cars and motorcycles from Lithuania and foreign countries, to elect best cars/motorcycles, ensure funny spending of time among like-minded people. This event is organized since 2008. Number of meeting’s participants constantly increases. “American Spirit” is one of the largest car events in Lithuania annually gathering a great number of legendary, exclusive cars and motorcycles made in USA.

The event is free of charge for participants and spectators. The event is organized on organizer’s account and voluntary contributions. Minimum estimate of costs of the event seeks LTL 9000.

We ask for your support and invite all who can and want to support this event. The received funds will be invested into facilities of the event, entertainment during the main day and during the evening part.

Electric cars appeared and competed with petrol cars even in the beginning of the 20th century. It is a pleasure for us to present the only one in Europe and one of the five in the world Rauch & Lang electric car built in 1918.
In the end of 2012 this car was brought to Lithuania by Augustinas Yankyavichus, a constant participant of American Spirit. Augustinas is well known for a perfectly restored Ford A of 1930.
Restoration of Rauch & Lang was finished in 2014. All parts are genuine. The car body is made of wood. The completely charged battery allows to drive for 100 km. 96 V, 2.5 kW engine allows the car to reach the speed of 30 km/h.
For the first time Augustinas will present Rauch & Lang to the public at American Spirit 2014. Welcome to the premiere!

Whether you know through, what is the time the engine can "catch a wedge"? This year we will find out it together with participants of a American Spirit meeting. We have a car from which we will let out all oils and liquids. We will start the car and we will allow it to work while the engine will jam or he will explode. Participants of a American Spirit meeting will be able to think of time, how many will sustain a engine , the most exact forecast will be rewarded.
The engine will sing the last song in the main day of a meeting, on August 9.

In the event of American Spirit it is a tradition to elect the best cars/motorcycles. There is no additional registration required for the participation in this contest. All participants must gather at the judging area at a given time. The timetables (for all categories) will be published on the day of the event (9^th August.). Everyone, that thinks, that their car/motorcycle is worth „best of show“ tittle can participate. If the veichle is technically unattended (broken) or dirty and if the participant does not match up with the categories, the technical comittee has the right to prevent the participation. This year the true American Spirit participants will become members of the judging comittee if registered before the 27^rd of July.

Order of judging

All participants, that register before the 27^rd of July will become members of the judging comittee and recieve a merchandise pack on the day of the event containing voting stickers (one for each category).

-          Each participant in „Best Of Show“ will recieve a voting paper, that will be required to be attached on to the windshield.

-          Members of the judging comittee will vote by applying their voting stickers on the participant's voting paper.

-          Whoever will gather the most voting stickers will be the winner of the contest.

-          The voting papers will be taken from the participants at the end of the contest.

During 48 hours organizers will make a dicision about the admission of the candidate and send him/her an e-mail conformation. If during 48 hours you will not receive a conformation letter and won't find your name in the participant list, please contact  organizers.
The list of participants will be published on the event website www.americanspirit.lt and updated at least once a day.

By the end of the main registration (by July 27) you will be able to register on the day of the event and during the additional registration (July 27 – August 3)

NOTA BENE! Those, who registered during the main registration receive:

• Meet numerical name sticker
• Meet "Welcome pack" of stickers and souvenirs
• Certificate of a participant
• Filled card of a participant

IMPORTANT:

• Only those, who registered before July 27 can vote at Best Of Show. Every registered person receives a sheet with special stickers used for voting.
• Only those, who registered before July 27 participate in Best Of Show online voting.
• Special badges designed for the fiftieth anniversary of Mustang and the centenary of Dodge will be made according to the main registration results`.
• It is important to notice that by registering during the main registration you help the organizers so that they have more time for other cares.

Those who register during the additional registration (July 27 – August 3) are guaranteed to get a rally numerical sticker, a card of a participant and a certificate. Those who register on the day of the event are guaranteed to get only a rally numerical sticker.

"Best of Show Online" competition includes all candidates who have registered up to July 27. On the 28 of July at the www.americanspirit.lt a Gallery with the ability to vote will be activated . A similar Gallery will be activated also on American Spirit Facebook page where we will vote by clicking "like". The voting deadline is August 3. The winners will be rewarded on the day of the event.

Hotels: We highly recommend to stay at hotels located near the venue of this event (“Gabija”, “Pušų Paunksmė”, “Prie Parko”, “Palangos Vėtra”, Villa “Ramybė”, Villa “Arbata”). Please, be reminded that Palanga isn’t a big city, so you are provided with easy access to the venue of the event from any hotel you are staying at. Accommodation agencies: Booking.com, PrieJuros.lt. 

Tents: People will be allowed to pitch their tents only in designated areas. You will be responsible for the safety of your own belongings, because the territory won’t be watched over. People could pitch their tents from 6 p.m. on 8th August. On 10th August, all the tents should be dismantled before 12 a.m. Only registered participants will be provided with areas for tents.

Hello owners, lovers and fans of American cars and motorcycles!

A great feast of American motors in Lithuania is coming. The seventh annual international meeting of the American cars and motorcycles “American Spirit” takes place on 8-9 August.

This year, we seek the record – 200 participating cars and motorcycles! We also invite the owners of other American machines to participate! Particular attention will be paid to Dodge cars. This year, this make of car turns 100 years. The first Dodge car was produced in 1914.

“American Spirit 2014” officially starts on 8 August (Friday); however, those who come on Thursday are invited to participate in the evening cruise around Palanga streets. Those who come on Friday are invited to participate in the competition “Big Poker Run”. The participants have to visit a number of control points located around the Western Lithuania. In each control points, you will get one poker card. In the evening, the participant, who collects the best card hand, will be awarded. During “Poker Run”, the participants have an opportunity to visit Vintage Motorcycle Museum and Cold War Museum (ballistic missile base). On the same day, several more competitions take place – car stereo, slaw drag, exhaust system sound and evening cruise.

The main “American Spirit” day, Saturday, starts with mini “Poker Run” in Palanga and free cruise. In the afternoon, we are going to elect the best cars and motorcycles. This year, all participants registered in advance are going to elect the best ones. However, commission will also have some work to do. This year, evaluation “Show car/bike class” is announced for the first time. Rare and especially carefully prepared cars and motorcycles are invited to participate in this evaluation. The day will be ended with the traditional Great parade around Palanga streets.

In the both evenings of the event, the participants are invited to the Friends’ tent. Here the music will be played, the awards and contests will take place. On Sunday, when the site is cleaned, everyone who wishes is invited to a picnic near lake Plateliai, where in a quiet place we cann discuss the results of the event.

Participation is free. Registration of the participants starts on 16 June. The participants, who have registered online, have the luxury against those registered on the event day (voting for the best, the most individual participants’ badges).

“American Spirit” is a public event. We invite to join the ranks of organizers. We are waiting for the volunteers who can and want to join the organisation and work before and during the event. We invite public and commercial organisations to cooperate.

“American Spirit” does not collect any mandatory participant or spectator fee; therefore we need voluntary financial support. It will be used for the essential expenses to cover. You can transfer the support by bank or paypal.
